My goals are to have a fun and professional photo shoot with great results, and to provide you with the comfort of a safe and very pleasant environment.
Whether you contact me or I contact you, I expect models to respond promptly to my messages and/or phone calls as we decide on the dates for a photo session, as well as outfits, specific themes, make-up artist and/or hair stylist arrangements. I will need to hear from the model at least two days before the photo shoot session to confirm that things are still on schedule.
I also require models to provide me with a reliable phone number where they can be reached in case plans change. A secondary phone number is always appreciated as well!
I require models to sign a release form and I do not do semi-nude or full-body glamour work with models under 18. A copy of your driver’s license, a government-issued photo ID or other legal proof of age will be required before beginning any session. No exceptions!
I encourage chaperones and helpers whether or not the shoot involves semi-nude, artistic nude or implied nude photographs. Non-disruptive escorts are always welcome, but I ask that it be limited to one and I require them to be quiet and respectful while the shoot is in progress.
Everybody’s cell phone/pager must be turned off during the shoot (that includes me!). If you absolutely must have it on, taking a call for more than three minutes, or taking more than two calls during a shoot, will result in the shoot immediately ending.
I do not give out full-session RAW or untouched image files. If you want to do your own retouching, individual source images may be available on an "as-negotiated" basis.
If you’re a beginning model, I will be pleased to advise you on what sort of basic photographs you might want in your portfolio. However, if you plan ahead, you can consider specialty pictures for the sort of fields you want to specialize in.
I highly recommend makeup artists for all modeling work: I can arrange for one at an additional charge (which goes right to the artist: I do not get any commissions or referral fees of any sort.) Models are encouraged to get one, even if it’s just a friend who can help you. If you’ve never done makeup for photography before, be aware that a somewhat heavier makeup than you might wear casually is often appropriate.
Unless otherwise agreed upon, I do not provide wardrobe. Bring your own, as much as you reasonably expect to use. A private and very comfortable changing area will be provided.
There are plenty of convenience stores around my studio and I will provide refreshments for most shoots. If you like a particular sort of refreshment, feel free to bring some along, or let me know and I will make reasonable provisions. For professional reasons alcohol is not allowed in my studio nor during on-location photo shoots. I also reserve the right to cancel the photo shoot if I suspect that you may be under the influence.
Address and transport information is provided when bookings are confirmed. My studio is easy to find and accessible from public transportation.
You are welcome to bring music to play during the shoot.
Last but not least, I will always treat the models and the session with the highest degree of respect and professionalism. Thus, I expect that models will do the same.
Thank you very much for taking the time to visit and read my photo shoot rules and guidelines and I hope you have a great day!
